Texas Debate Involves School Voucher and Homeschooling Rules
A state senator in Texas has expressed concern over a rule in a new school voucher program. The point in question allows families with students in non-participating private schools to receive up to two thousand dollars in tax-funded educational expenses.
Families have already used more than two hundred and seventy million dollars of these state funds. However, the state comptroller has refused to disclose which private schools and vendors have profited from these resources.
In light of the situation, there has been a request to double the Texas school voucher program to two billion dollars. The topic continues to generate political debate and controversy in the state.
