Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Please read carefully. By creating an account or using Casamundo Homeschooling ("Casamundo", "we"), you state that you have read, understood and fully agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Casamundo is

Casamundo is a platform that supports families who educate at home. We offer study materials, tips, informational legal guides, and a dashboard to organize students, activities, documents, calendar and the school-year plan.

All content is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal, pedagogical, psychological, medical or professional advice of any kind, and does not replace a qualified professional or an official authority.

2. Who may use it and the family’s responsibility

The service is intended for people over 18 (or the legal age of majority in their country), who are parents or legal guardians. Children and teenagers must not create accounts.

When you register a child or teenager, you declare that you are their legal guardian or have express authorization from whoever is, and you take full responsibility for the information entered. You alone are responsible for complying with the home-education rules of your country, state or municipality, which vary and may change.

3. Free account, trial period and archiving

The account is always free. With it you can access materials, tips and guides, subject to the reading limits described on the site.

When you create an account you get 30 days to try the dashboard with 1 student. When the trial ends, if you do not subscribe to a paid plan, the account stays free and access to the materials remains; however, student data (profiles, activities, documents, files, plans and calendars) is archived and inaccessible until you subscribe.

Archived data is kept securely for up to 12 months after the trial ends. After that period we may permanently delete it, with prior notice by email where possible. At any time you can download a copy of your data or request its deletion, for all students or for the whole account, from the account page.

4. Plans and payment

Paid plan features, prices and conditions are shown on the plans page. No charge is made without your express confirmation. We may change prices and features with reasonable notice, with no retroactive effect on periods already paid.

Unless the law provides otherwise, amounts paid are not refundable for periods already used. Withdrawal rights provided by law are respected.

5. Your content and the license you grant us

You keep all rights to the texts, photos, videos, audio, documents and other content you add ("User Content"). You declare that you have the right to upload it and that it does not violate third-party rights or the law.

To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, process, convert (for example, shrinking photos and videos), display to you and to the people you choose to share with, and back up that content, solely to provide the service.

We do not sell your family’s data, do not use it for advertising and do not use it to train our own artificial intelligence models.

6. Artificial intelligence

Some features use artificial intelligence (for example, file-name suggestions, planning chat and creation of materials with sources). For this, excerpts of the content you upload (such as the text of a document or an image) may be processed by third-party providers, such as Google (Gemini) and OpenRouter, only to generate the response. We try not to send the child’s name.

AI responses may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. You must check everything before using or relying on it. We are not responsible for decisions made based on that content.

7. Materials, tips, laws and third-party sources

Materials and tips may be created or reviewed with the support of artificial intelligence and cite third-party sources (such as open encyclopedias and public websites). We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness or currency. External links and sources are the responsibility of their owners.

Legal guides are informational, unofficial summaries. Laws change and vary by place; always consult the official rule and, if needed, a lawyer.

8. Acceptable use

It is forbidden to: upload illegal content, content that violates third-party rights, that exploits or endangers children, or that is offensive or discriminatory; upload viruses, malicious programs or scripts (programs may only be uploaded inside a .zip file); try to access other people’s data; bypass technical, security or usage limits; scrape the site automatically; or use the service for unlawful purposes.

We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that violate these terms at any time, with or without notice.

9. Privacy and data protection

We process personal data in accordance with applicable law, including the LGPD (Brazil) and, where applicable, the GDPR (Europe). The data we collect is what you provide (name, email, student data, activities, documents and files) and technical usage and security data (such as a protected form of IP address, access logs and necessary cookies).

We use data to provide the service, keep it secure, comply with legal obligations and improve the platform. Files are encrypted on our servers. We adopt reasonable security measures, but no system is completely invulnerable and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

At any time you may access, correct, export and delete your data and withdraw consent, using the account page or by contacting us. We may retain minimal information where the law requires or for defence in proceedings.

To operate, we use service providers (hosting, email, artificial intelligence) that may be in other countries; in such cases we adopt reasonable contractual safeguards.

10. Availability and changes to the service

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend or end features, plans or the entire service, temporarily or permanently. Make copies of any data you consider important; export is available on the account page.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or educational, academic or legal outcomes.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Casamundo and those responsible for it are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss, lost opportunities or losses arising from the use of or inability to use the service, third-party or AI content, the family’s educational or legal decisions, or unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid in the 12 months before the event, or zero if you use the free account. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that the law deems non-waivable.

13. Indemnity

You agree to hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including fees) arising from content you add, from breach of these terms, or from violation of third-party rights or the law.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time by deleting it on the account page. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the law. Provisions that by their nature should continue (such as disclaimers, limitations and ownership) remain valid.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Using the service after the update means you accept the new text.

16. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the party responsible for the service is based, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your place of residence. Questions, data requests and complaints can be sent through the site’s contact channels.
